Alison Self DipCOT, Bsc OT
Alison Self has over 30 years experience as an occupational therapist working with people who have a brain injury and cognitive disabilities. She has experience working in the UK and Australia. On moving to Western Australia in 2002 she joined a specialised brain injury rehabilitation team and re-developed the occupational therapy programmes for the service. Since 2007 she has run her own independent practice.
Alison is registered with the Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and is a member of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists. She is an approved provider of cognitive interventions under Medicare's Better Access to Mental Health Programme (BAMH) for adults and children. Alison is also an NDIS registered provider.
Alison has worked specifically in the area of cognitive rehabilitation for children, teenagers and adults for the past 25 years. She is a member of The Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation (www.societyforcognitiverehab.org/) an international organisation promoting evidence based practice in Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy for people with an acquired brain injury and other disabilities affecting cognitive functioning.
Alison is based in Perth, Western Australia and travels to locations both metro and rural to provide assessment and interventions.
