About Alison
Alison Self has 20 years experience as an occupational therapist working with people who have an acquired brain injury and cognitive disabilites. She has experience working in the UK and Australia. On moving to Western Australia in 2002 she joined a specialised brain injury rehabilitation team and re-developed the occupational therapy programmes for the service.
Alison is registered with the Occupational Therapists Registration Board of Western Australia and is a member of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.She is an approved provider of cognitive interventions under the Better Access to Mental Health Programme (BAMH) for eligible adults and children. Alison has worked specifically in the area of cognitive rehabilitation for children, teenagers and adults for the past 15 years. She is a member of The Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation (www.societyforcognitiverehab.org/) an international organisation promoting evidence based practice in Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy for people with an acquired brain injury and other disabilities affecting cognitive functioning.
Alison is based in Perth, Western Australia and travels to locations both metro and rural to provide interventions.
